Professor Mike Rodd
Director - Learned Society & External Relations, British Computer Society
Mike Rodd is responsible for overseeing the Society’s External Relations activities, especially within the government and academic arenas. He also has responsibility for the continuing development and support of the Specialist Groups, Branches, Forums and Academic Accreditation.
Prior to this appointment he was a Deputy Secretary/ Director of Knowledge Services at the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
A Chartered Engineer and IT Professional, his previous positions include Professor and Head of the Engineering School at the University of Wales (Swansea), where he led a research group in real-time computer systems. He also was responsible for establishing a series of successful technology transfer companies. He is presently an Honorary Professor in Swansea and Cardiff.
