Dr Akif Khan
Head of Client and Technical Services, Cybersource
Dr Akif Khan joined CyberSource in December 2004. As Head of Client and Technical Services he provides strong project management, business analysis and consultancy skills. This is complemented by deep payment industry and risk management expertise gained from working with online merchants in a wide variety of different geographies and sectors.
Educated as a research scientist, and with recent experience in the IT and finance industries, Dr Khan is well placed to work with CyberSource’s customers, analysing their requirements and providing guidance to optimise and grow their businesses with particular focus on minimising risk and reducing fraud.
Before joining CyberSource, Dr Khan worked as a project manager on the Global Financial Messaging platform at JPMorgan, one of the world’s largest investment banks. Managing a team of developers in the UK and India, he was responsible for enhancements to a platform that processed transactions worth more that $1.2 trillion each day.
Prior to this, Dr Khan worked as a Technology Solutions Consultant for PriceWaterhouseCoopers Consulting, assigned to infrastructure projects inside major corporations including Unilever. He also spent time as a research chemist with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in Sweden, where he contributed to teams developing new techniques for the purification of medicines.
