Det Sgt Dave Titheridge
North Wales Police
Det Sgt Dave Titheridge has been working for HTCU for eight years, at Manchester Met before he came to Colwyn Bay two years ago.
On leaving school spent 9 years in the Regular Army (Royal Signals) focusing on long range secure communications and crypto systems. In 1986 Dave joined Greater Manchester Police as a Police Officer and took over the Hi-tech Crime Unit in 1999. Dave subsequently transferred to NWP to manage their HTCU in Jan 2005. During his time managing HTCU Dave has been actively involved in hundreds of cases, investigating every type of Ecrime from fraud to Murder, including many that involve business. Most of his business investigations were linked to staff currently employed in that company or ones that had recently left.
In July 2004 Dave graduated from Cranfield University (Royal Military College of Science) with a PG Cert in Computer Forensics and expects to complete the full Masters later this year.
In his spare time David is a member of the Territorial Army (Land Information Assurance Group - Royal Signals), a specialist unit that undertakes IT Assurance assessments for the HM Forces anywhere in the world, a role that ideally complements his role in Hi-tech Crime as it helps him deliver solutions for businesses.
One of the areas David is very keen on is "Ecrime awareness and prevention for business", with a view to ensuring businesses at all levels in North Wales get the right advice when they need it. Additionally North Wales Police now have the facility where businesses in North Wales now have a law enforcement representative who they can speak to in complete confidence, fully embracing the NHTCU confidentiality charter.
