Alex Donald
Information Specialist, UK & Ireland Microsoft .NET Regional Service Centre, EDS
Alex is currently one of the information specialists for EDS’ UK & Ireland Microsoft .NET Regional Service Centre. He is responsible for many of the technical designs of .NET solutions delivered from the centre. He is also responsible for the mentoring of other developers in the various teams. He currently works as technical lead on various projects in addition to providing technical over sight on the web services team projects.
Born in Swansea, Wales, in 1962 and lived in the area most his life. He has had a varied career within several industries. These were initially centred around the electronics field which he trained on whilst in the Army. Later he decided to change career and more into Information Technology.
Alex joined EDS in 2001 when he was hired as a graduate after completing his MSc from the University of Wales. He rapidly completed the graduate programme in EDS and then set about studying for the Microsoft .NET examinations to gain the following Microsoft certifications MCP, MCAD and MCSD qualifications in .NET. After successfully leading several projects and becoming technical lead in the web services team he gained promotion to Information Specialist.
