Event Detail
Thursday 22nd November
So you want to be a web developer?
The internet has taken the world by storm and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. Web pages vary from online shops, business sites, and personal web pages to online operating systems. Popular blog sites and social networking sites are also making the world a smaller and more intimate space.
Beginning with an introduction to the internet and the development of web pages, the students will get to see technologies that have now developed and advanced the World Wide Web to what it is today. Students will have an opportunity to talk about their favorite websites and share ideas into websites they would like to create. Students will also be introduced to technologies and research undertaken in the university under the Future Interaction Technologies laboratory.
Furthermore, the students will be taken step by step through developing their own personal webpage with multimedia features which they can then upload for the world to browse. A copy of the web page will be given to them on CD to keep as a reminder or further development. If any student wishes to continue the project as a hobby or is interested in learning more about any aspect of computer science information and help will be provided.
This event is supported by Careers Wales, and the department of Computer Science at Swansea University. |
