Visualisation: Exploiting Semantics for 3D Graphics


It is easy to create a digital image, a video or a 3D object; but our libraries - be they classical public libraries or company-internal repositories - are not equipped with the tools to provide all the services for non-standard documents that are available for books, journals, or technical specification sheets.
Numerous outstanding research problems are on the agenda for 3D docuemtns. This talk will address a few of them and report on initial promising advances.

 

Dieter Fellner is a professor of Computer Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, and the Director of the Fraunhofer Institute of Computer Graphics.
